Mission of ReWired for Change

ReWired for Change is a nonprofit organization that works to empower young people living in the most underserved communities across the country through education, media advocacy, and street-based intervention.

Our founding members consist of an array of former cast members and crew from HBO's hit television series, "The Wire," along with other members of the entertainment community. We offer our time, family and community support, creativity, and cultural influence to support projects that plant the seeds of hope, courage and success in at-risk youth before they are lost to the destructive circumstances of their everyday lives. All too often, failed institutions, neglected neighborhoods and disintegrating family structures have left young people without any viable opportunities for a better life. ReWired for Change uplifts vulnerable population, while also bringing national attention to the most invisible among us.
